I cannot believe it has now been six years since I started my little blog while holed up in my single bed in university halls one random evening. Six years. This corner of the internet has been with me through so much; the whole of my university experience is documented here, as well my interning stint in London and the determination to get myself onto the career ladder. I’ve bought a flat, I’ve travelled, I’ve loved, I’ve lost. I’ve grown as a person in so many ways. I’ve figured out who I am and who I want to be, what I want to do and achieve in life; and I feel as though that lonely, homesick teen who started this blog on a whim back in 2013 would be pretty pleased with how her life has turned out so far. It’s pretty insane, and what a journey it’s been.
And I can honestly say that 6 years in, I’m loving blogging more than ever. This year I moved away from the “All Things Beautiful” side of my blog. I kissed goodbye to beauty blogging and reviewing, and embraced the lifestyle and travel side of my blog with open arms. This year, more than it has in a long time, my blog has been an avenue for being open with myself, exploring my beliefs, writing out my thoughts, and it’s always been there during the times that I’ve needed to escape and to just simply write.
I will forever be grateful for the wonderful friends, experiences and events I have made, received and attended thanks to this tiny platform. But most importantly I am so thankful that I had the confidence to start it up in the first place. It’s pretty terrifying pouring your heart out onto a page for all to read, especially some of the more personal posts I’ve written lately, but it’s pretty liberating getting it out there and learning that many people also feel just like you too.
