My Must-Have A/W Staples with Rokit.*

This transitional time of year is my favourite. Admittedly, I prefer it when it’s crisp and sunny, rather than experiencing the wrath of whatever weirdly-named storm is coming next, but the cool mornings, seeing the streets littered with brightly coloured leaves, and the nights slowly drawing in make me super happy.

It’s also a time to get experimental with fashion, and this is probably what I love about autumn the most. With this year’s hottest looks ranging from supersized sweaters to boho dresses, isn’t it about time you added to your already overflowing wardrobe? And why not branch out away from the high street, and look for a brand that thinks outside of the box?

This is what vintage clothing brand Rokit does. The brand, which started out in 1986 as a Camden market stall and now boasts four stores across London, recycles discarded clothes and accessories, often recreating unusable garments into amazing one of a kind pieces. Some of their amazing items may be a little edgy for a small-town Welsh gal like myself, but it’s been so fun experimenting with different styles and stepping outside of my fashion comfort zone.

For me, that’s what fashion is all about; recreating yourself every day with different garments and styles.

1. The high-neck jumper

If you don’t have about seventy high neck jumpers spilling out of your wardrobe by now, then where have you been? I’m an avid collector of these bad boys, and this is the latest addition to my collection. I love how it’s slightly cropped, and I tried it out with a leather-look skirt and love the result. For me, it’s the perfect smart casual look, and is great for throwing on with a pair of ripped jeans and trainers when you’ve got a couple of errands to run.

2. The glitzy top

Did someone say party season? *Eeeep!* I am so excited for the events I have coming up over the next few weeks, and I think a top that adds a little glam to any occasion is much-needed as the countdown to Christmas begins. This blouse is amazing – it’s bright, shimmery and works so well as part of a range of outfits. I actually wore it out to a party last weekend with a denim skirt and some heeled boots, and it was a hit. Get your mitts on a glitzy top pronto!

3. The bomber jacket

Now let’s dress things down a little. The air is getting colder by the day and I’m finding myself reaching for warmer coats as time goes on, but one item I cannot live without is a denim bomber jacket. Last year I rocked a furry-collared one on the daily, and this year’s option of choice is this gorgeous one from Rokit. I love the simplicity of it, and the quilting inside means it’s super warm so perfect for brisk autumn walks. I also love wearing it with a skirt and heeled boots like this to dress down an outfit. Plus, long gone are the days where I would neglect taking a coat on a night out!

4. The floaty dress

With Halloween just around the corner, the darker, more gothic your clothing the better! And IMO, a dress that can take you from day to night is an absolute must-have at this time of year. This dress is one of my favourite pieces that I selected, and it was an item that I never would have normally opted for. The long flowing skirt, the delicate pattern and the ruffled finish make for a piece that screams gothic elegance, and I think teamed with a pair of heeled boots you have an outfit that’s classy and sophisticated. I’m totally in love with this piece!

5. The office-to-party blouse

Is it just me, or do you find that as Christmas gets closer the spontaneous after-work drinks become far more frequent? This means you need some transitional pieces that you can pull off at the office and the bar, and a blouse is the perfect way to do this. It’s sophisticated enough to wear in the day, but works with jeans or a skirt for those last-minute evenings out too. I love how this one will bring a little colour to dull, grey days in A/W.

What are your must-have A/W staples?

Lots of love. xoxo
