I absolutely love experimenting with eyeshadow looks. Mixing colours, contrasting with light and dark shades – it’s definitely an art form and I’m always on the hunt for new palettes with pretty pastels or deep browns to try. I feel completely naked without it, but I do find that some eyeshadow products tend to get a little flakey after a day’s wear, gathering in the crease and in the tear duct, especially in the warmer weather. Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray Eyeshadow Primer is a game changer, and it’s become more than just an eye product for me.
I first tried out a sample of this product years ago and used it as sparingly as I could, saving it for special occasions as I loved it so much. I received it as a gift after an internship a few months ago and I’ve been using it almost religiously ever since. The primer comes in a thick tube with a foam wand built into the lid to allow easy application. This is ideal when it comes to doing my face before work. Early mornings and makeup usually aren’t the best combination, but with one swift swoop the product is on, and then I dab and spread it across my eyelid with my ring finger for an even application.
The product is quite thick which I actually really like, as watery concealer and base products just aren’t my thing, and I think this is what makes my finished eyeshadow look appear so much more defined than when I just apply foundation on the lids. It sets quickly, making a perfect base for you to apply product on top and almost works like a glue, so the powder clings to the lids exactly where you want it and fly aways are a thing of the past. I’m really so impressed with this product and I just love how it has helped ensure my eyeshadow stays in place all day.
In fact, I’ve been so impressed with Stay Don’t Stray that I’ve even ditched my usual concealer and have started using it under the eyes to hide dark circles and ensure my face powder has a little more staying power. I do get quite oily on the cheeks so having this there has meant less foundation top-ups throughout the day and I’m saving my more expensive beauty products in the process.
If you’re a lover of bold eyeshadow looks then I can’t recommend Stay Don’t Stray enough. It’s such a versatile product and really has upped my eyeshadow game, meaning I can try out even more glitzy looks with eyeshadow glitters and highly pigmented products. I’m so pleased I picked it up and I’ll definitely be repurchasing when this runs out, though I don’t think this will be the case for quite some time.
Have you tried Stay Don’t Stray?
Lots of love,
