It’s the bane of every beauty bloggers’ life, it’s a daily nightmare and it’s a downright nuisance – yes, that’s right, I’m talking about the dreaded winged liner. For years I struggled with various liquid eyeliners and ended up with wonky-looking panda eyes on many an occasion, but I have found a game changer. I’ve found a liquid eyeliner that allows you to sweep winged liner across those eyelids with absolute ease, and it’s the 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner from Collection.
I originally used this on Hallowe’en when I was turning myself into a cat! It was perfect for drawing on some innovative cat eyes and from then I haven’t looked back. I love it because it is in the form of a felt-tip pen so essentially you are “drawing” on your eyes. In the past I used to use “paint” style applicators which made application really tricky. I don’t know about you guys but I am a terrible painter, but using a pen form of applicator means that you are completely in control of what you’re doing and results in far better wings!
The tip of the liner is rather long and ends in a fine point; however, I like to use the side of the tip as it is thicker and great for sweeping across the lash line in one swift stroke. I pull that straight across the eyelid and then use the tip of the pen to accentuate the wing/flick and make it look even with a decent, pointed finish. It’s so much easier to use as you’re practically lining up and filling in the gaps in the same way as you would draw on a piece of paper with a regular pen.
The pigmentation of the pen is truly fantastic. It comes out instantly in a thick black gel and dries immediately so the chances of smudging are seriously reduced – another bonus in my book! It’s also really long lasting. Seriously, once this is applied it will not budge and will need to be removed with an appropriate eye makeup remover (I like to use the Camomile Eye Makeup Remover from The Body Shop). It leaves you with flawless looking wings all day!
And the best thing about Collection’s 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner? The price, of course! It costs just £2.99 and if I’m honest I won’t use another liner now until they discontinue this one. I’ve been having a nosey and have seen competitors that cost over £20. When you can have this fantastic, high quality product for the price of an M&S sandwich it really puts into perspective just how fabulous drugstore products are. For those of you who are looking for a perfect product to help you master those winged eye I really cannot recommend it enough.
